Chicken Cordon Bleu

Procedure:

For the seasoned breadcrumbs:

  • 1 in a bowl, Add breadcrumbs, basil, oregano, parsley, garlic powder, parmesan cheese. Stir well to integrate all the ingredients. Reserve.
    For the chicken:
  • 1 Season the chicken milanesas with salt and pepper on both sides.
(If you don’t know how to open the chicken breasts to make them Milanese, you can ask the butcher to do it for you)
  • 2 In a bowl mix the cheeses and divide into 4 equal parts.
  • 3 Place a portion of cheese on each Milanese and place a slice of ham on top. Roll up and stick a wooden toothpick in so it doesn’t fall apart.

To overflow:

  • Add the two eggs to a bowl along with the milk. Stir well with a fork. Reserve.
  • In another bowl add the flour.
  • Dip each chicken milanesa first in the flour, then pass it in the egg and finally pass it in the seasoned breadcrumbs. Make sure they are well covered at each step so that there are no unbreaded spaces.
  • Pass through the egg again and then through the breadcrumbs. This way you will get a double layer of breading and it will make it more crunchy and delicious!!

To fry the chicken:

In a frying pan add the oil, and heat over medium heat until the oil is ready to fry.

Add the breaded chicken rolls and fry over medium heat for 3 to 4 minutes until the breading is golden brown.
(This has to be done over medium heat so they don’t burn prematurely. If you do it over high heat, the chicken will be raw and the bread will be too brown.)

After time, remove the chicken and drain on kitchen paper to remove excess oil.

You can accompany it with a salad or white rice, if you wish.

(DO NOT FORGET TO REMOVE THE WOODEN STICK BEFORE CONSUMING)
