CHRISTMAS GLORIES RECIPE

Glorias are typical Mexican sweets, especially popular during the Christmas festivities. Here is a recipe to make homemade glories:

Ingredients:

2 cups condensed milk
Two cups sugar
1 cup evaporated milk
One cup walnuts or peanuts, toasted and chopped
1 cup powdered milk
One cup grated coconut (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Wax paper to wrap the glories

Preparation:

In a large pot, combine the condensed milk, sugar and evaporated milk over medium heat. Stir constantly until the mixture thickens and turns golden brown (approximately 30-40 minutes).

Add the chopped walnuts and milk powder to the mixture. Continue stirring until the mixture comes away easily from the sides of the pot.

Remove the pot from the heat and add the vanilla extract. Mix well.

Pour the mixture onto a flat surface and let it cool until you can handle it with your hands.

With lightly greased hands, form small portions of the mixture into a roll or ball.

If you wish, you can wrap each glory in grated coconut.

Place each glory on a piece of wax paper and wrap.

Let the glories sit and cool completely before serving.

Ready! Now you have delicious Christmas glories. These treats are perfect for sharing at holiday parties or giving as part of a gift exchange.

I hope you enjoy this recipe!
