Ingredients:
500g flour.
3 tablespoons oil.
1 egg.
250ml warm milk.
Salt to taste.
1 tablespoon orange peel.
1 tablespoon butter.
56g sugar.
Oil for frying.
Icing sugar for dusting.
In a large bowl, mix the flour with the oil, egg and warm milk. Add a pinch of salt.
Add the orange peel and butter to the mixture. Knead until the dough is smooth.
Add the sugar and continue kneading until completely absorbed.
Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest in a warm place until it doubles in volume (about 1 hour).
Knead again to eliminate the excess air and roll out the dough. Cut with a cookie cutter or something similar and make a hole in the center with a smaller cutter.
Cover and let rest for 20 minutes.
Then heat the frying oil over medium-high heat.
Fry the donuts until golden brown on both sides.
Remove from the oil and place on absorbent paper to remove excess fat.
Once the donuts have cooled slightly, sprinkle them generously with powdered sugar. This finishing touch will give a sweet and delicate finish to your homemade donuts.
