Raspberry jam is simply delicious! Are you, like me, waiting for the period when the seasonal fruits appear to elegantly start making jam? There is something mystical about this process, when you stand by the cauldron and stir the jam with a wooden spoon!
Strawberries, cherries, currants, raspberries, blackberries…a real melody. Place the cans in a row, being sure to add the cans to the shelf in the closet or pantry.
How wonderful when in winter you enjoy warm tea with a piece of bread spread with jam that reminds you of the flavors of summer!
In this century of hurried time, the recipe of mothers and grandmothers, which involves long boiling in several stages, is no longer to their liking. We want to do everything quickly, so that everything is ready in two moves. And here we mention the recipe “sweet in 5 minutes”, which can be prepared from any fruit.
The less jam is cooked, the more useful it is, and the fruits retain their taste, shape and aroma. Perfect for this recipe: raspberries, currants, strawberries and cherries.
Ingredients:
1 kg of fruit;
1 kg of sugar;
4 tablespoons of lemon juice (no need to add to cherries).
Method of cooking:
- Wash the selected fruit, if you use cherries, remove the pits. Sprinkle them with sugar and leave overnight in the refrigerator.
- In the morning, put the bowl containing the fruits on medium heat and bring them to a boil. When they boil, add lemon juice and cook for another 5 minutes. Use a large cauldron, saucepan, or metal basin. Only use a wooden spoon when mixing.
- Pour the jam into sterile jars that hermetically close. I find it more convenient to use 250 ml jars with screw-on lids. While the jam is cooking, I lower the lids into boiling water and boil a little, and pour a little water into the jars and put them in the microwave to sterilize.
- Close the cans tightly, turn them upside down and cover them with a blanket for several hours until they cool down.
The volume of the finished product depends on the type of fruit: raspberries, strawberries, currants – about 1 liter, cherries – about 1.6 liters (due to the large amount of juice). Undoubtedly, homemade jam is stored very well even in the conditions of a city apartment, without putting it in the refrigerator, it does not sour and does not explode.
We wish you a pleasant appetite in the circle of your loved ones!
