Tomato Squares

  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) tomato sauce
  • Salt to taste
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 roll of puff pastry
  • fresh oregano
  • 40 g (1/2 cup) parmesan cheese, finely grated
  • Poppy seeds

Cheese and Salami Squares

  • 1 roll of puff pastry
  • 70 g cheese, preferably with good melting capacity
  • Salami, cut into thin slices
  • Sesame seeds
  • Beaten egg yolk + Extra virgin olive oil

Procedure to prepare a quick appetizer for parties

  1. In a small bowl, mix the tomato sauce with salt and olive oil. Make sure you get a uniform mixture.
  2. Unroll a sheet of puff pastry on a flat surface and spread half of the tomato sauce mixture on it. Sprinkle with oregano and spread the Parmesan cheese evenly.
  3. Fold the puff pastry over itself, pressing lightly to seal. Cut into squares and place in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
  4. Repeat the process with the second sheet of puff pastry, this time filling it with cheese and slices of salami. Fold and cut into squares, placing in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.
