Marble Chocolate Cake

ngredients:

For the dough:

250 g butter, softened
250 g sugar
4 eggs
250 g flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp cocoa powder

For the icing (optional):

100 g chocolate (dark or milk)
50 g butter

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 180°C and grease a cake tin (e.g. a 24 cm round springform tin) well.

In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.

Gradually add the eggs and beat well.

Sift flour and baking powder and add to butter-sugar mixture. Stir gently until well combined.

Divide the batter in half. In one half, add the vanilla extract and stir in. In the other half, add the cocoa powder and stir well until the batter is an even chocolate color.

Start adding alternating teaspoonfuls of vanilla and chocolate batter into the cake pan. Use a wooden skewer or knife to create a marble pattern by gently whisking the batter together.

Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before removing it from the pan and letting it cool completely on a wire rack.

If you want, you can make a chocolate glaze by melting chocolate and butter in a saucepan and frosting the cake with it.

Cut the cake into slices and serve. Enjoy your homemade marble chocolate cake!

This cake is a popular treat for coffee breaks, birthday parties, or anytime you feel like something sweet.
