The recipe is taken from the magazine “Today’s Kitchen” and is one of Larisa’s favorites…
Ingredients needed
Ingredients for the dough:
1 packet of margarine
1 cube of yeast
1 egg
200 ml of milk
4 spoons of sugar
the peel and juice of a lemon
550 g of flour
Ingredients for the filling:
300 g of sugar
150 ml of water
rum essence
2 sachets of vanilla sugar
300 g poppy
1 egg for greasing
How is it prepared?
- Mix all the ingredients for the dough, knead a soft dough and let it rest for 30 minutes in a warm place.
- For the filling, grind the poppy seeds. Water and sugar are boiled to obtain the syrup. Add ground poppy seeds, rum essence and vanilla sugar. Boil for about 5 minutes, until it starts to thicken, then cool.
- Divide the dough into 4 parts, as well as the filling. Put flour on the table, spread the thin sheet, spread the filling on its entire surface and roll it out…
- Place it in the tray lined with oil and flour. The same is done with the other sheets. Form 4 rolls and place in the tray. Brush the top with a whole egg as follows: brush the entire surface once, then refrigerate for 10 minutes. The operation is repeated 3 times.
- Put it in the oven for 45 minutes, at the right heat.
P.S.: If the filling is too thick after cooling, add a little more milk…
Enjoy with love! Good appetite!
