Grandma’s ancient water sparrow recipe, super delicious and extremely filling

180 g flour
2 egg(s)
100 ml water
½ tsp salt
some butter
1 handful of breadcrumbs
applesauce or apple compote

preparation

First mix the flour, eggs, water and salt until a dough is formed. Let rest for 30 minutes.

Then bring salted water to the boil and add a tablespoon of the dough to the water (this is how the sparrows are formed).
Now cook in salted water until the “sparrows” float to the top.

Then keep warm in a bowl with a lid and in the meantime heat some butter in a pan and fry the breadcrumbs in it until golden.
Pour over the sparrows and serve with applesauce or apple compote.
