When I think of comfort food, the first dish that comes to mind is the pork chops with scalloped potatoes that my mom used to make. The memory of those juicy pork chops paired with the creamy texture of potatoes never fails to evoke nostalgia. This dish is not only delicious; it is wrapped in the warmth of family memories and the love my mother poured into every meal.

6 pork chops
4 potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 onion, sliced
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 can of your favorite broth (chicken is a popular choice), 14 oz
Salt and pepper to taste
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
Set the stage: Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Layering time: Arrange the sliced potatoes and onions evenly in the bottom of the baking dish. Give them a generous seasoning.
Browning and Layering: In a pan, brown the pork chops after seasoning them. Once ready, place them on top of the layer of potatoes and onions.

Assembly: Drizzle this sauce over the pork chops.
Cooking: Cover the dish with cling film and let it cook for 45 minutes.
Serve: once baked, serve it piping hot and watch their faces light up with joy!
