Ingredients:
3 slices of white sandwich bread
2 slices of cooked ham
3 tablespoons of grated Gouda cheese, any kind of cheese, you can choose
2 eggs
3 teaspoons of mayonnaise
5 tablespoons of milk
Some salt to taste
1 tablespoon of butter
Preparation:
1. Cut off all 4 edges of the bread slices. Spread the mayonnaise on all 3 bread slices. Place the grated Gouda cheese on all 3 bread slices.
Place 2 slices of cooked ham on each slice of bread.
2. I use a cutting board to press lightly onto the slices of bread, cheese and cooked ham. Then turn over onto the remaining bread. Use the cutting board to press the sandwich down lightly again.
3. Place 2 cups on the cutting board for about 3 to 4 minutes to flatten the sandwich. In a bowl, crack the eggs, season with salt, and spoon in the milk. Beat the ingredients until combined with a fork.
4. Soak the sandwich in the egg mixture. In a flying pan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once the butter is melted, pour it into the sandwich.
5. Grill the sandwich on all sides until golden brown, about 3 minutes per side. Cut the Monte Cristo sandwich into triangles and serve immediately. Enjoy!
