Ingredients:

- 200g of 00 flour
- 150g of sugar
- 100g melted butter (plus extra for greasing the pan)
- 3 eggs
- 1 sachet of baking powder (about 16g)
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 100g of coarsely chopped walnuts
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Powdered sugar (for decoration, optional)
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven and prepare the pan:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C. Butter and flour a 24cm diameter baking pan.
- Prepare mine:
- Peel and cut the apples into thin slices. Place the apple slices in a bowl and sprinkle them with lemon juice to prevent them from blackening. Set aside.
- Whisk the eggs and sugar:
- In a large bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- Add the liquid ingredients:
- Add the melted butter to the egg and sugar mixture and mix well.
- Add the dry ingredients:
- Sift the flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the liquid mixture and mix until smooth.
- Add the nuts:
- Add the chopped walnuts to the mixture, mixing gently.
- Add the apples:
- Add about two-thirds of the apple slices to the mixture and stir to distribute them evenly.
- Pour the mixture into the pan:
- Pour the mixture into the prepared pan and level it with a spatula. Arrange the remaining apple slices decoratively on the surface of the dough.
- Bake the cake:
- Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for about 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
- Cool and decorate:
- Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. If desired, dust the top of the cake with icing sugar before serving.
- Served:
- Cut the cake into slices and serve it. This cake is great on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
