This old fashioned custard recipe has stood the test of time. Serve it as a dessert and watch everyone’s eyes light up and ask for more!
*ingredients
°1 can (14 oz.) sweetened condensed milk
°4c hot water
°6 eggs
°2 tsp vanilla extract
°1/4 tsp salt
°Nutmeg for garnish

*Methods:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Whisk together the condensed milk and hot water in a glass or metal bowl.
In another bowl, beat the eggs until pale in color and fluffy to the touch. Pour some of the hot milk mixture into the eggs until smooth, then mix well. Add the vanilla and salt. Pour into ramekins and place on a high-sided baking sheet. Or use a 2-quart baking sheet instead.
Place the pan in the oven and fill with 1/2 inch of water. Bake for 1 hour or a knife comes out clean. If using a larger baking dish, bake for 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Let the custard cool for 1 hour. Sprinkle with nutmeg and serve warm or cold until served cold.
