Ingredients:
- 200g of finely chopped walnuts
- 150g of flour
- 100g of sugar
- 100g of butter at room temperature
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- A pinch of salt
- Powdered sugar to decorate (optional)
- Oven preparation:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Line a baking tray with baking paper or lightly grease with butter and flour.
- Preparation of the dough:
- In a large bowl, cream the butter with the sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Adding the Dry Ingredients:
- In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Stir in the chopped walnuts.
- Sweets training:
- Using a spoon, scoop out small amounts of dough and shape into balls.
- Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each to allow the treats to expand slightly during baking.
- Cooking:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly browned.
- Remove from the oven and let the cakes cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Decoration:
- If desired, dust the cooled cakes with icing sugar before serving.
- Advice:
- You can add a touch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the mixture for extra flavor.
- If you prefer, you can replace some of the nuts with chopped almonds or hazelnuts.
- The treats can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for several days.
