Ingredients:
For the meat filling:
- 500g minced beef
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil
- 4 tablespoons of flour
- Salt and Pepper To Taste
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- 1 teaspoon of rosemary
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 grated carrot
- 2/3 cup peas
- 1 cup beef or chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
For the must:
- 700 g of potatoes
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup cream
- 1/4 cup grated cheese
- Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 200°C/400°F. Peel and cut the potatoes into quarters and boil them over medium heat until soft.
- Meanwhile, prepare the pie filling by heating a little olive oil over medium heat and using it to sauté the chopped onions and carrots for about 5 minutes.
- Season with salt, pepper, dried herbs and add garlic. Add the ground beef and cook for 10 minutes, until no longer pink.
- Mix meat and vegetables with tomato paste, peas, flour and pour in the broth. Leave the sauce on medium heat until it becomes thick and creamy.
- Meanwhile, prepare the seasoning. Blend the cooked potatoes with cream, butter, salt and pepper. Stir in the grated cheese.
- Place the beef gravy on a baking tray and cover with the mashed potatoes.
- Distribute the seasoning evenly. Cook for 20-25 minutes. Serve hot.
- Notes: This recipe can also be made with ground turkey or ground chicken.
